In the research field during the period of April 2015 - October 2015, 105 individuals who were engaged in amateur fishing were randomly selected and the original data were obtained from individuals participating in the questionnaire which included forty questions on a volunteer basis. In the determination process of the sample size; because of the absence of any record of amateur fishing rate in the population in our country, 4.8% of the value set for Europe was used according to geographical proximity. As a result of the questionnaire survey conducted with amateur anglers, the distribution of variables about whether or not they had information about fishery regulations was determined by chi-square test and the probability of error α = 0.05 was selected. Survey results were evaluated by using SPSS and EXCEL programs. As a result, when comparing those with and without knowledge about legislative regulations, it was observed that the age group variable (χ2: 14,305; p: 0,008), occupational groups (χ2: 13,074; p: 0,004) and being a homeowner variable (χ2: 5,810; P: 0.016) were statistically different, while other variables were not. In case of comparing those with and without knowledge about legislative regulations, among fish consumption (kg / week) variable (χ2:9.149; p:0,000), years amateur fishing has been done variable (χ2:17,805; p:0,000), having a handline fishing document variable (χ2:18,595; p:0,000), hours spent on hunting variable (χ2:12,931; p:0,012), whether or not having knowledge of dangerous fish species variable (χ2:16,097; p:0,000), and those who have knowledge of legislative regulations and those who have not (χ2:11,728; p:0,001) statistically significant difference was observed; however, there was no statistically significant difference observed in other variables.
