For this purpose, water samples were taken from 7 sampling points with 2 different depths in Karakaya Dam Lake. Totally 12 parameters (temperature, pH, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, total phosphorus, nitrate, nitrite, ammonia, sulfate, phosphate and chemical oxygen demand) were analyzed in the taken water samples. Thus, water quality and production potential concerning aquaculture were determined in the lake. In the dam lake, the local people get income from agriculture and natural fishing as well as other farming activities. In the same time, the environment of the dam lake is used as sightseeing and rest place. When the findings of the physical and chemical analyses were evaluated, it is seen that lake was mesotrophic lake. According to these results, dam lake generally had not a convenient habitat with regard to aquaculture. Keywords : Karakaya Dam Lake,Physical and Chemical Analysis,Water Quality
