Investigation of Nematodes in Chub Mackerel (Scomber japonicus Houttuyn, 1782 ), Horse Mackerel (Trachurus trachurus (Linnaeus, 1758 )) and Sardines (Sardinella aurita Valenciennes, 1847 ) Caught in Çanakkale Region

DOI : 10.17693/yunus.58953 Viewed : 2895 - Downloaded : 2049 This study was carried out on Chub mackerel, Sardines, Horse mackerel sampled on a monthly basis in Çanakkale Region of Aegean Sea. In this study was held on a total of 1071 fish; including 243 chub mackerel (Scomber japonicus) 377, horse mackerel (Trachurus trachurus) and 451 sardines (Sardinella aurita). Parasitological examination showed that 108 of chub mackerel, 140 of horse mackerel, 16 of sardines were infected with endohelmint. In parasitological examination, Anisakis simplex was identified only in the body cavity and muscle of chub mackerel. Contracecum aduncum was identified in body cavity and intestine of horse mackerel and sardines. During the parasitological examination total of 1788 A. simplex were counted in infected chub mackerel; intensity, prevalence and abundance of that were 16.55, % 44.44 and 7.35 respectively. 988 C. aduncum were determined in infected horse mackerel, intensity, prevalence and abundance of that were 7.05, % 37.14 and 2.62 respectively. 76 C. aduncum were found in sardines, intensity, prevalence and abundance of that were 4.75, % 3.54 and 0.16 respectively.
